Flower Glossary

Muscari

Muscari, another classic symbol of spring. After a long winter season with little to see in the garden, nothing lifts your spirits more than seeing those classic spring bulbs poking out of the soil. Especially when growing alongside other spring favourites like tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils, muscari popping up throughout can really make a spring garden come to life. Known primarily for its popular blue colour and shades thereof, today muscari is available in many different colours, such as pink, white, lavender, and yellow.

When planting in the garden, muscari prefer a full sun location to partial shade, and need to be planted in the fall so they can rest and prepare for their spring performance. Typically, muscari will flower in April-May and will stay in bloom for 3-4 weeks or more. They prefer well-draining soil, as soggy soil will cause the bulbs to rot.

Available in both bulbs and as indoor potted plants (when seasonally available) and in our artificial offerings, if a spring arrangement is what you're after, it can’t be complete without Muscari!
