Another classic summer flower, the snapdragon is incredibly versatile and can be found in gardens, containers, pots, and floral arrangements. Available in a wide range of varieties, heights, and colours, the snapdragon is truly a standout plant. Its name comes from the unique shape of its flowers, which resemble a dragon’s face — and when paired with the array of vibrant colours, it makes quite an impression. Snapdragon blooms open from the bottom of the stalk upward, creating a striking visual effect and allowing for an extended blooming period. Regular deadheading (removing spent blooms) will encourage continuous flowering throughout the season.
Snapdragons prefer a location with full sun to partial shade and tend to thrive in cooler temperatures. During the hottest part of the summer, they may temporarily stop blooming; however, with consistent watering and care, they’ll usually bounce back once the heat eases. Plant them in well-draining soil and ensure they receive adequate water to keep them happy and flourishing.
Available year-round in our artificial offerings — in both natural touch and standard varieties — snapdragons are also offered as fresh cut flowers and potted plants when in season. Whether indoors or out, the charm and colour of snapdragons make them a cheerful addition to any space.
